  • Habitat: Wooded ravines, prairie restorations, and native grass plantings along the east edge of Lake Shelbyville.

Site Specific Regulations

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.
  • Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
  • Use Hunt Planner to find hunting seasons open at this site.
  • Only portions of the park are open to hunting, see the map.
  • Portable tree stands must be removed daily.

Deer

    • Requires site-specific permit issued through statewide lottery.

Turkey

  • Statewide regulations.
  • Requires site-specific permit obtained via statewide lottery.

Waterfowl

  • Statewide regulations, except hunters must obtain a windshield card online.
  • Waterfowl hunters must set up no fewer than 200 yards from other hunters, developed recreational areas, construction or industrial sites.
  • Waterfowl hunting on Lake Shelbyville-park boundary only.

Squirrels/Rabbits

  • Squirrel hunting not permitted.

    • Season opens the day after the conclusion of second firearm deer season and closes on December 20
