Site Characteristics

Huntable acres: 760

Habitat: The site is characterized by rolling upland brush, sloping grownup fields, and high bluffs along the north boundary. Cultivated fields are found along the west boundary and fallow, brushy fields are scattered throughout the area. Some mature oak-hickory timber is found along the north boundary. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.

Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.

Only one tree stand or ground blind is allowed per deer hunter. It is prohibited to construct or use any tree stand using nails, screws or any device which pierces or cuts the bark of the tree on which it is installed.

Tree stands may be left unattended from September 15 through January 31. Any tree stand or ground blind left unattended must be legibly marked with the owner’s name, address, and telephone number, or site assigned identification number

All hunters must sign-in and sign-out at site office.

Hunting

  • Raccoon and Bobcat hunting only.
  • Rimfire rifles .22 caliber and smaller may be used from sunset to sunrise.
  • Furbearer hunting is closed during Firearm Deer Season.

Trapping

Available at this site. Statewide regulations apply, except:

  • A site-specific permit is required and must be in possession while trapping on the area.
  • Trappers must stay within assigned areas.
  • A drawing shall be held prior to the opening of the season. The date of the drawing shall be announced by the Department by public announcement here and the drawing shall be held at the site. Persons participating in the drawing must have either a current or previous year trapping license.
  • Body-gripping traps with a 10-inch jaw spread or larger must be totally submerged in water when set.
  • .22 caliber or smaller rimfire firearms are permitted.
