Site Specific Regulations
- All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.
- Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
- Hunters under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Use Hunt Planner to find hunting seasons open at this site.
- Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.

- Rabbit hunting is by permit only. A free upland game hunt application must be used to apply for rabbit hunts. Online application may be obtained from the IDNR Permit Office or by calling 217-782-7305.
- Upland hunting is permitted on the 1st and 2nd day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in Nov, and on each Thursday and Sunday in Dec. Closing date is Dec 24.
- Only 1 hunting party, consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners, will be allowed each day.
- Non-toxic shot required
- Upland game hunters must wear blaze orange apparel (at least 400 square inches).
Upland Birds
- Dove
- Dove hunting is allowed from Sept 1 -5 from 12 pm – 5 pm. From Sept 6 – 30, statewide times apply.
- Dove hunting is handled through Snakeden Hollow SFWA. A drawing will be held at 11am if more hunters apply to hunt than can be accommodated.
- Dove harvest must be reported at Snakeden Hollow SFWA.

- A drawing to allocate annual trapping rights is held at the Snakeden Hollow SFWA office on opening day of goose season at 10 am.
- Only Egg traps, Dog Proof traps, box traps, cage traps, or traps of similar design may be used for land sets.
- Body gripping traps must have a jaw spread of 10″ or less and be completely submerged underwater.
