Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 630
  • Habitat: Open grasslands with small, seasonal wetlands. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site. These activities are necessary to improve and develop high quality wildlife habitat.

Site Specific Regulations

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.
  • Free Upland Game Permit is required and can be applied for here.
  • Only 2 parties consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners will be allowed each day.
  • Species-specific rules:

Deer

  • Deer hunting not permitted.

Turkey

  • Turkey hunting not permitted.

Waterfowl

  • Waterfowl hunting not permitted.

Squirrels/Rabbits

  • Squirrel hunting not permitted.
  • Rabbits
    • Statewide regulations, but requires a free upland game permit obtained via statewide lottery.
    • Only 2 parties consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners will be allowed each day.
    • Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through Dec 24.

Upland Birds

  • Pheasant & Quail
    • Statewide regulations, but requires a free upland game permit.
    • Only 2 parties consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners will be allowed each day.
    • Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through Dec 24.

Furbearers

  • Furbearer hunting not permitted.
  • Trapping
    • Statewide regulations, except season begins at sunrise on December 26 – February 15.
    • Requires a site specific permit obtained via lottery and windshield card are required
      • Applicants must submit their name to the site office before the Tuesday prior to the opening of the North Zone trapping season.

    • Trapping permit must be in possession while trapping on the site.
    • Only Egg Traps®, D-P (Dog-Proof) Traps®, Lil Grizz Get’rz®, box traps, cage traps, and traps of similar design may be used for land sets
