Site Characteristics
Huntable acres: 646 acres consisting of 5 separate units.
Habitat: Open grassland; some parcels contain small, seasonal wetlands and/or limited wooded riparian areas.
Active habitat management will occur throughout the year on the site, including prescribed burning.

Site requires a Free Upland Game Permit issued via state lottery to be held in August. Permit applications can be found here.
Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November, and on each Thursday and Sunday in December, through December 24.
Only 2 parties consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners will be allowed each day.
All upland hunting must be done with a shotgun or bow and arrow (flu flu arrows only).

- Requires a lottery-based Free Upland Game Permit that you can apply for online between Aug 1 and Aug 31. Harvest reporting materials will be mailed to successful permit holders via the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS). You must report your harvest to INHS by February 15th to avoid the loss of hunting privileges for the following year.
- Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through Dec 24.
