Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 1,290
  • Habitat: This area is rolling with steep hills and deep hollows, covered with mature timber of oak-hickory type. The entire area is well supplied with water from springs interspersed throughout the area. Agricultural leases maintain open areas to provide habitat diversity.

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.
  • Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
  • Use Hunt Planner to find hunting seasons open at this site.
  • Hunters may leave stands unattended. Stands must be portable and labeled with owner’s name, address and telephone number.

  • Habitat: The site lies adjacent to the Mississippi River on the dry side of a levee. It is characterized by regenerating bottomland woodlands and associated wetlands and drainage ditches.

      • Hunters with a valid, unfilled firearm deer permit for the hunt area may take coyotes during legal hours of the firearm deer season. Otherwise, the use of shotgun slugs to take furbearing mammals is prohibited on state sites.
    • Coyote and striped skunk season coincides with the statewide fox season.

  • Habitat: This site lies at the base of the Mississippi River bluff. It is characterized by retired bluff top crop fields bisected by deep ravines. The ravines are dominated by oak/hickory forest components.
