Site Characteristics
Huntable acres: 280 acres divided into two separate units. 120-acre unit located 3.5 miles south of IL State Route 9 on 1300 E. Road; 160-acre unit located 0.5 miles east of the intersection of 1300 E and 3500 N Road, 5 miles south of IL State Route 9.
Habitat: Open grassland consisting of two separate units. Active grassland habitat management will be occurring on the site. These activities are designed to improve upland habitat.
Active habitat management will occur throughout the year on the site, including prescribed burning.

All upland hunting must be done with a shotgun or a bow and arrow (flu flu arrows only).

Available at this site. Statewide regulations apply, except:
- Requires a lottery-based Free Upland Game Permit that you can apply for online between Aug 1 and Aug 31. Harvest reporting materials will be mailed to successful permit holders via the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS). You must report your harvest to INHS by February 15th to avoid the loss of hunting privileges for the following year.
- Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through Dec 24.
- Only 1 party consisting of the permit holder and no more than 3 hunting partners will be allowed each day.
