Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 3,400
  • Habitat: greentree reservoir with a mix of wetland and forest. Area is flooded during fall/winter for waterfowl, but largely drained during other months

Deer

Waterfowl

  • Hunting hours are from legal opening until 1 p.m. and hunters must be out of the site by 2 pm.
  • No permanent blinds allowed.
  • Waterfowl hunters must maintain a distance of 200 yards between hunting parties
  • No hunting withing 100 yards of developed recreation areas, public use facilities, and construction areas
  • Hunters must sign-in/sign-out are report harvest
  • It is unlawful to trespass in areas designated as waterfowl rest areas or refuges from two weeks prior to the start of the regular duck season through the close of the regular duck and Canada goose season
  • It is unlawful to trespass upon the designated waterfowl hunting area during the 7 days prior to the regular waterfowl season unless otherwise posted at the site
  • All hunting must be by walk-in
  • Hunters must hunt over a minimum of 6 decoys in Compartments 19, 20, 21
  • No person shall tamper with or attempt to manipulate any of the gates, pumps or structures in the sub-impoundment area
