Huntable Acres: 1,191
Habitat: A mix of nearly equal proportions of forest, shrubs, grassland and cropland. Active habitat management will occur throughout the year on the site. These activities are necessary to improve and develop high-quality wildlife habitat.

Site Specific Regulations
Statewide and associated species regulations apply at the site unless noted hereafter.
Site requires use of a windshield card for all hunting opportunities, displayed on the vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
Portable tree stands can be left on site from September 15 to January 31, but must be removed before the last date. Stands must have the hunter’s windshield card number displayed OR the owner’s name, address, and telephone number.

- Hunting is open daily from October 1 to the opening of the controlled pheasant season.
- Archery hunting is open only on Monday and Tuesday during the controlled pheasant season.

- Stands/blinds may be left on site from September 15 to January 31.
- Unattended stands/blinds must be labeled with the following: owner’s name, address, and telephone number OR site-assigned identification number (windshield card number).

Youth Spring
Available at this site. Statewide regulations apply, except:
- A site-specific permit, obtained through the statewide permit lottery, is required.
- The site is limited to four youth hunter permits per season.
- Each permitted youth hunter is required to be accompanied in the field by a parent/guardian or responsible adult who possesses a valid Firearms Owners Identification (FOID) Card. The adult and/or adult caller is not allowed to hunt but may accompany the youth hunter as a caller or observer. The supervising adult shall be criminally liable for the actions of the youth on the site and shall be subject to the criminal penalties provided by law.

Controlled Pheasant Hunting

- Hunting is for released pen-raised birds.

- Season opens on Wednesday before the first Saturday of November

- Closed Christmas Day
- Check-in time: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- Hunting Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Thanksgiving Day hours are 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Rabbits

- Hours are 8 am-4 pm.
- All hunting must be done with shotguns or bow and arrows. Only shot shells with a shot size of No. 5 lead or a non-toxic shot size ballistically equivalent to No. 5 lead or smaller may be used.
- Hunters under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Non-hunters are not allowed in the upland game management units except when assisting with handicap hunters.

Trapping
Available at this site. Statewide regulations for the North Zone apply, except:
- A site-specific permit is required (issued via lottery), and a windshield card is required.
- The lottery drawing is held at the site office at 10:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday before the opening of the north zone trapping season. Applicants must submit their name and contact info to the site office before the drawing.
- Only Egg traps, D-P (Dog proof) traps, Lil Grizz Get’rz, box traps, cage traps and traps of similar design may be used for land sets.
- Legal water sets may be used.
Falconry
Available at this site. Statewide regulations apply, except:
- A site-specific permit is required. Contact the site office prior to hunting
- Permit must be returned and harvest reported by February 15
- Failure to return the permit or report harvest will result in loss of hunting privileges at this site the following year
- Season: October 1 through two days before Controlled Pheasant season. Reopens Monday following the close of the controlled pheasant hunting season through the close of the North Zone upland season.
- Hunting hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Falconry hunters may harvest cock and hen pheasant, Hungarian partridge, bobwhite quail, and rabbit.
