Huntable acres: 116

Habitat: This site contains old field grass/shrub areas, forested land, native grass patches and is surrounded by private cropland. The native grasses are being planted as budgets allow. Much of the site topography is rolling to steep hills accentuated with sink hole areas. The site also features a developed natural cave feature that is closed to hunting.

Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site, including prescribed burning.

Statewide and associated species regulations, in accordance with the Illinois Digest of Hunting and Trapping Regulations, apply at site unless noted hereafter. 

Deer

Archery

Available at this site. Statewide regulations apply, except:

• Hunters may use portable tree stands and blinds, but they must be removed daily. 

• No hunting is permitted in posted areas, developed recreation areas, and within 100 yards of construction sites or residences.  

• Hunter parking is restricted to the parking lot outside of the front entrance. No hunter parking will be permitted within the gates and no parking is permitted along County Road G.  

• Hunter access is limited to foot traffic only and access hours will be limited to hours posted at the site. 

• Hunters must sign in/out at the sign-in kiosk located at the main entrance. 

• Site is closed to archery deer hunting during the 1^st and 2^nd firearm deer seasons. 

• Site is open to archery deer hunting during youth, muzzleloader and if county is included in the late antlerless deer season. Hunters must have a valid archery tag and wear legal blaze orange when archery hunting during these seasons.
