Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 120
  • Habitat: Cover is primarily warm season grass and low growing woody shrubs interspersed with American Plum and Blackjack Oak thickets. Topography is that of a 60 foot sand hill or dune with several blowouts. Soils are all sand and there are no open water areas on the site. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site, including prescribed burning.

Site Specific Regulations

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter
  • Site requires use of windshield card displayed on vehicle dashboard to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February
  • Use Hunt Planner to find hunting seasons open at this site
  • Hunters must remove tree stands daily
  • Prescribed fire may be conducted during archery deer hunting season

    • Hunting is by statewide permit
    • Only one tree stand or ground blind is allowed per deer hunter. Tree stands and ground blinds must be portable and must be removed at the end of each day.
