Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 800
  • Habitat: Site is located within the Mississippi River bottoms of southwestern Illinois and contains low wet areas, and sloughs. Large cultivated fields and brushy areas are interspersed by woodlands throughout the area. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.

Site Specific Regulations

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter
  • Use Hunt Planner to find hunting seasons open at this site
  • Hunters may leave stands unattended, but stands must be marked with the owner’s name, address and telephone number
  • All hunting is to be done with primitive muzzleloading firearms or archery only, except for teal/duck hunting
  • All hunters must sign in and sign out for each day of hunting
  • All hunters are required to report their harvest each day following their hunt

  • Primitive muzzleloading firearms (flintlock or percussion cap) are the only permitted firearms for hunting at this site. In-line muzzleloaders and scoped muzzleloaders are not permitted

Waterfowl

  • Statewide regulations, except the following:
    • Hunting from anchored, portable boat blinds only on first come-first served basis
    • Must use a minimum of 6 decoys which must be removed at the end of each hunting day
    • No hunting during firearm deer season
