Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 365
  • Habitat: Open, rolling grasslands with limited wooded riparian area adjacent to Rock Creek. Active grassland habitat management will be occurring on the site. These activities are designed to improve upland habitat.

Site Specific Regulations

Deer

  • Archery
    • Deer Archery requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
    • Statewide regulations, except season is from October 1-31.
    • Hunters must remove tree stands daily and windshield card number must be displayed on tree stand.
      • Only one tree stand or ground blind is allowed per deer permit holder.
  • No Firearm or Muzzleloader season.

Turkey

  • Turkey hunting not permitted.

Waterfowl

  • Waterfowl hunting not permitted.

Squirrels/Rabbits

  • Squirrels
    • Squirrel hunting not permitted.
  • Rabbits
    • Statewide regulations, but requires a free upland game permit obtained via statewide lottery.
    • All upland hunting must be done with shotgun or bow and arrow (flu flu arrows only).
    • Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through Dec 24.
    • Only 1 party consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners will be allowed each day.

Upland Birds

  • All upland hunting must be done with shotgun or bow and arrow (flu flu arrows only).
  • Pheasant & Quail
    • Statewide regulations, but requires a free upland game permit obtained via statewide lottery.
    • Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through Dec 24.
    • Only 1 party consisting of the permit holder and no more than 5 hunting partners will be allowed each day.

Furbearers

  • Furbearer hunting not permitted.
  • Trapping
    • Statewide regulations, except season begins at sunrise on December 26 – February 15.
    • Requires a site specific permit issued via lottery and Free windshield card.

    • Trapping permit must be in possession while trapping on the site.
    • Trappers must report their annual harvest online (even if the trapper did not trap) by February 15, or two weeks after the season closes for those seasons ending after February 1. Trappers shall forfeit their trapping privileges at the site for the following year if they fail to report by the above deadline.
    • Only Egg Traps®, D-P (Dog-Proof) Traps®, LilGrizz Get’rz®, box traps, cage traps, and traps of similar design may be used for land sets.
