Site Characteristics
Huntable acres: 134 (51 acres of timber, 76 acres of grasslands/agricultural, and 7 acres of wetlands)
Habitat: A tranquil setting, flowing rivers and natural prairie land with an abundance of wildlife. Des Plaines Game Propagation Center has habitats such as native prairie, woodlands, cool season grasses and agricultural fields. Active habitat management will occur throughout the year on the site, including prescribed burning.

Available at this site. Statewide regulations apply, except:
- Hunters must sign in, sign out and report harvest daily.
- Closed during firearm deer season and on Saturdays and Sundays in October and Sundays in November, December and January.
Please note:
- Hunters should park along the entrance drive outside front gate. Do not block any access.
- Scouting: Scouting will only be allowed the last full week (M – F) in September.

- Site-specific permit allocated by mail-in drawing required.
- A total of one (1) trapping permit will be allocated annually. Those interested should submit their name, address & phone number to: District Wildlife Biologist, DPGPC Trapping, 30550 South Boathouse Rd., Wilmington, IL 60481
- Permit winner to be notified by October 1.
- Trapping dates are from August 1 – 31 annually.
- Trapper is required to wear blaze orange while on site.
- Trapper to report effort & harvest by April 1.
