Site Characteristics
Huntable acres: 1351
Habitat: Copperhead Hollow has steep hills and deep hollows, covered with oak-hickory forest. Agricultural leases provide and maintain open areas to increase habitat diversity. There are also small brushy areas interspersed across the site.
Active habitat management will occur throughout the year on the site, including prescribed burning.


Site Specific Regulations
Statewide and associated species regulations apply at the site unless noted hereafter.
Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on the vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
No ATV’s are allowed on site. Use of bicycles and low speed electric bicycles are NOT authorized except on roadways designated for vehicular use.
No target or trap shooting is allowed.
No unauthorized person may use or occupy this area during any hunting season when authorized hunting is in progress.
Parking is only allowed in the parking lots.
Tracking deer with dogs is prohibited during hours when deer hunting is being conducted on site.

Hunting

- Rimfire rifles .22 caliber and smaller may be used from sunset to sunrise.
- Furbearer hunting closed during Firearm Deer Season
- Hunters with a valid, unfilled firearm deer permit for the hunt area may take coyotes during legal hours of the firearm deer season. Otherwise, the use of shotgun slugs to take furbearing mammals is prohibited on state sites.
- .224 caliber or smaller centerfire is allowed from the close of deer season until the end of the statewide fox season.
- Coyote and striped skunk season coincides with the statewide fox season.
Trapping

- A valid site-permit is required.
- Permits are issued via a public drawing held the Wednesday after the opening of the central waterfowl season at the Mississippi River SFWA site office.
- All persons entering the drawing must have a current trapping license and habitat stamp.
- Site specific regulations will be provided to permit holders.
