Site Characteristics
- Huntable acres: 1,150
- Habitat: Site is characterized by a mix of upland bluffs that consist of oak-hickory woodlands interspersed with hill prairie, savanna, dry barren, open woodland, with various ponds and intermittent creeks. Bottomlands consist of the Mississippi River floodplain forest and successional fields. Two large riverine islands provide refuge for wintering bald eagles and a heron rookery. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.



Site-specific Regulations
- All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.
- Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
- All hunting on site ends on Dec 15
- Species-specific rules:
Deer
- Only one tree stand or ground blind is allowed per deer hunter. Tree stands and ground blinds must be removed at the end of each day with the exception that they may be left unattended from September 15-January 31. Any tree stand or ground blind left unattended overnight must be legibly marked with the owner’s name, address, and telephone number, or site assigned identification number. It is prohibited to construct or use any tree stand using nails, screws or any device which pierces or cuts the bark of the tree on which it is installed.

Muzzleloader
- Requires a special permit allocated through the regular statewide drawing.
- 2nd 3-day weekend only; Closed during the second firearm deer season

Archery

- Hunting Ends after December 15, in respect to Bald Eagle roosting activity.
Youth Deer
- Statewide regulations.
Turkey
- No turkey hunting is offered.
Waterfowl
- No waterfowl hunting is offered.
Squirrels/Rabbits
- No squirrel/rabbit hunting is offered.
Upland Birds
- No upland bird hunting is offered.
Furbearers
- No furbearer hunting/trapping is offered.
