Site Characteristics

  • Huntable acres: 120
  • Habitat: characterized by major habitat areas consisting of 100% forest and shrub land. Spring creek flows through the site.

Site Specific Regulations

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.
  • Site requires use of windshield card, displayed on vehicle dashboard, to report hunting effort and harvest by 15 February.
  • Hunters must remove tree stands from the area at the end of the day’s hunt.
  • Ongoing habitat management including:  spring, summer, and fall burning, tree and brush removal are part of a long-term habitat improvement program at the park. Please watch for signs of field work and plan accordingly when you see them.

Deer

  • Archery
    • Statewide regulations.

    • Statewide regulations.
  • Muzzleloader
    • Open only during the second firearm season

Turkey

  • Spring, Youth, and Fall Archery
    • Statewide regulations.
    • No fall gun season.

Waterfowl

  • No waterfowl hunting permitted

Squirrels/Rabbits

  • Squirrels
    • Season open from August 1-September 30, and reopens after the close of the statewide archery season.
    • .25 caliber air rifles and smaller, shotguns and black powder weapons may be used.
    • Red squirrels are found in this area and are a protected species.
  • Rabbits
    • Rabbit hunting not permitted.

Upland Birds

  • Upland bird hunting not permitted.

Furbearers

  • Trapping
    • No trapping permitted.
  • Hunting
    • No Furbearer hunting permitted.
