  • Habitat: Open grassland bisected by Coon Creek. Active grassland habitat management will be occurring on the site. These activities are designed to improve upland habitat.

Site Specific Regulations

  • All statewide hunting regulations apply at site unless noted hereafter.

  • All hunting must be done with shotgun or bow and arrow (flu flu arrows only)

Deer

Squirrels/Rabbits

    • Squirrel hunting not permitted.
  • Rabbits
    • Statewide regulations, but requires a free upland game permit must be obtained via statewide lottery.
    • Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November, and on each Thursday and Sunday in December, through December 24.
    • Only 1 hunting party, consisting of the permit holder and 3 guests will be allowed each day.
    • Harvest must be reported by February 15 (or two weeks after the season closes for those seasons ending after February 1) or permit holders will forfeit hunting privileges at sites requiring a Free Upland Permit the following year.

Upland Birds

  • Quail and Pheasant
    • Statewide regulations, but requires a free upland game permit must be obtained by submitting application online.
    • Permits are issued for the first and second day of the statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in November, and on each Thursday and Sunday in December, through December 24.
    • Only 1 hunting party, consisting of the permit holder and 3 guests will be allowed each day.

Furbearers

  • Trapping
    • Free windshield card and Site specific permit required.

      • Trapping permit must be in possession while trapping on the site.
    • Only Egg Traps, D-P (Dog-Proof) Traps, Lil Grizz Get’rz, box traps, cage traps, and traps of similar design may be used for land sets.
