Troubleshooting Instructions

(Having trouble adding the “Enhanced Versions” to your existing Calendar Apps?)

If you are using a computer and want to access the “Enhanced Versions” through your web browser, clicking the links above will direct you to the Google calendar webpage, and if you are already logged in, you should receive a prompt that says: “Add calendar?”, then click “Add”. If you do not receive the prompt, follow the instructions below to manually add them.

If you are using an Android device that is logged into a Google account, simply click on the “Enhanced Versions” links above. You’ll receive a prompt to: “Add calendar ‘Illinois Hunt/Trap Lotteries Calendar’ to your account?” Click YES and the calendar will be added to your Google Calendar app. If you do not receive the prompt, follow the instructions below to manually add them.

If you are using an Apple device you can view the calendars through a web browser by clicking the “Enhanced Versions” links above which will direct you to the Google Calendar webpage to sign in.

If you want to add these calendars to your existing Apple Calendar app, follow the links above for the “Enhanced Versions” to add them to a Google Calendar. If you do not have a Google Account you can create an account by using an email address already in use, such as yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc. After adding the calendars to a Google account, follow the instructions below to sync your Google Calendar to your Apple Calendar.

Instructions for adding to your Apple Calendar app

  1. First, follow the steps above to add the calendars to your Google account
  2. Next, open the Settings application on your device
  3. Click on “Calendar”
  4. Select “Accounts” followed by “Add Account”
  5. Select “Google” and then log in with your Google Account
  6. Once this is completed, go to your Calendar app and select “Calendars” in the bottom middle of the screen
  7. Make sure that your Google Account and “Illinois Hunt/Trap Season Calendar” and “Illinois Hunt/Trap Lottery Calendar” are both selected
  8. You may need to close your Calendar app and then reopen it for it to sync the calendars. If you still aren’t able to see it, go to your web browser and visit calendar.google.com/calendar/syncselect. Be sure that all calendars are set to sync and then refresh your calendar app.

Instructions for manually adding the calendars

Manually add the calendar by navigating to: calendar.google.com, then on the left-hand side below “My calendars” you will see where you can select the “+” next to “Other Calendars” and select “From URL”. Copy and paste the links below into the box and select “Add Calendar”.

Enhanced Calendar Features

  • Sync Feature: Turn this on and you will only have to add this calendar once and all future lottery and season dates will be automatically added.
  • Built-in Links: Look no further for where to apply or purchase a permit. Each entry contains the link to apply, where to purchase and where to find more information — just click on the entry title.
  • Search Tool: Located at the top right-hand side, quickly find species/season-specific information by using keywords like “turkey” or “archery”.
  • Reminder Notifications: Edit the event details and add a reminder so you never miss an application deadline again — just click on the pencil icon.
  • Enhanced User Controls: View the calendars when you want to, but turn them off when you don’t — just check the box next to the calendar name on the left side of your screen.
